Thinking about Christmas yet???
Well, if you are in the Colorado area, here is a GREAT savings for your holiday photos!! Feel free to pass along, this is a great deal!! Oh, and don’t forget to check out the website
12 more days till my shoot with 2020 Visual Studios!!
12 more days till my upcoming photoshoot. I am very excited. I have a few more things to buy and do before I am ready but I have a good feeling about this one. Not sure if I mentioned this before or not, but this is not a fitness shoot. Which is new to me. This is the photographer that is doing my shoot. Make sure to click on that link, it takes you to his FB page. Don’t forget to “like” his page to see the photos! The company is called 2020 Visual Studios and who knew, they are in my neck of the woods! Very creative and great work! Training and diet is going well. Fitness shoots will start back up in the early part of the new year. That will give me time to regain some muscle and lean out a bit more.
One of my FAVORITE protein shakes to make this time of the year is of course a Pumpkin Shake! I thought I would share my recipe with you!!
6-8 oz no sugar added vanilla almond milk
2 TBS canned pumpkin puree
2 ice cubes
Stevia to taste
Pumpkin pie spice
Cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground flax seed
1 scoop vanilla whey protein
Mix and enjoy!! LOVE IT!! Hope you enjoy as well!!
SHIT happens
Pardon my language but it does. I had a photographer contact me the other day asking to do a photoshoot. I thought perfect. Just what I need to get myself out of this slump and back into training again. When I told him I would be interested in doing one after the new year, he became the biggest jerk! Said that was too far out and why even have a page (on model mayhem) blah blah blah. Well jerk photographer, shit happens and some of us lose track. Me being one of them. Im not perfect. With my back going out from over training and that putting me out for a couple of months to all that is going on in my personal life, I lost track. I lost the excitement I once had for working out. I forgot why I was doing it…for ME and my health. I started to feel guilty for my love and passion for fitness and training. So I took a step back. Do you think that made me feel any better?? NOPE. As a matter of fact it made me feel worse. Yep, lost my beloved muscle and gained fat. Now Im no where near where I was…my training this past year has been sporadic but it wasn’t completely inexistant. Thank goodness. When you lose sight of what you love and love to do, it can affect you in so many ways, negatively.
So here I am. Gaining sight of who I am and getting to where I want to be.
Fighter Diet
I am sure if you have been apart of the fitness world for any given amount of time you have heard of Pauline Nordine and her concept, Fighter Diet. I have been doing the Fighter diet extreme for about 4 weeks and lost almost 10 pounds. **I am getting back on track and staying there!!** Well I am switching up to FDX2 which is her plan for losing fat and building muscle. Now as you all know I LOVE my muscle and I can not WAIT to build more! I don’t have any progress pics right now but plan to put some up in 4 weeks showing the progression. So stay tuned!
On another note, I don’t think I have mentioned my new venture into photography. Yep, why not, right? I have always loved photography just never actually learned about it until now. After all I am making changes. So I figured I would post a few of my pictures. Now I am not a professional so cut me some slack if you decided to leave a comment
Time for me to get coffee and for you to enjoy my pictures!
Changes
Changes are good, right? I suppose some are and some are not. We will never learn to grow as individuals if we never make necessary changes in our lives to get to where we need to be. I have been absent here for awhile and actually considered shutting this blog down. But every time I got close to doing it I felt like I would be deleting apart of me that I love. I have gone through a lot of changes and most are documented here in this blog. Someone told me reminded me the definition of insanity…doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Well, hello wake up! Don’t we all do this in some aspects of our lives? Our marriages, our health, our dead end jobs? I would say so. But is that living? Is that going to actually get us to where we need to be in our lives? I say no and for the first time I actually believe what I am saying. It is kind of like when I had my wake up call and decided to finally take control of my health, 4 years ago. So, right now in my life it is all about changes. Some scary, some exciting, some sad, and some happy. It is a mix of emotions but the journey I am about to go on will help shape ME and help me be a better person, friend, mother, and if ever again, a wife.
What changes do YOU want to see in your life?? And why are you not making the changes to get there??
Switching up my workouts
I’ve been a gym kinda workout person, you know the typical do weights ( I do love to lift weights) and then on to cardio. Spend usually 1-2 hours there per day. Well that was when I was a stay at home mom (or when I actually worked full time at the gym…can’t get anymore convenient than a lunch break workout than that!). Now I am working again, full time…and no not at a gym. My kids are getting older and right now God has put me back to work (gotta love that he really does have a plan for all of us). So, now my workouts need to accommodate to my new schedule. Here is what we are working on…me and my hubby that is.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: P90x at 5am. Then I do interval training at lunch. There is a GREAT running trail right across the street from where I work. It’s like I planned it
Tuesday & Thursday: Lunch intervals. 6pm at the gym. For now we will do this until our home gym is set up.
Saturday: Weights and cardio at the gym
Sunday: Yoga/Stretching
We are working on getting a few more pieces for our home gym and will start doing that and save ourselves even more money once we drop the gym membership for awhile. I found this site: http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/07/09/grab-your-balls-workout/ and knew you all would love this site as much as I am loving it! Great info!!
Otherwise, same ole here. Enjoying summer and all the fun outdoor things CO has to offer!!
I am going to try some new outdoor interval training and if it kicks my a$$ I will pass it along to all of you!!
Stay strong!
